In a tragic incident at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona on Monday afternoon, a private jet owned by Mötley Crüe lead singer Vince Neil collided with another jet, leading to one death and multiple injuries. Forbes reports that the accident occurred at approximately 2:39 p.m. MST, when a Learjet, arriving from Austin, Texas, veered off the runway and struck a parked Gulfstream 200 plane.

According to Kelli Kuester, aviation planning and outreach coordinator for Scottsdale Airport, the failure of the left main gear during landing led to the aircraft's loss of control. India Times confirmed that Neil was not present on the jet at the time of the incident. The Learjet had four individuals onboard, including two passengers and two pilots, while one person was in the parked Gulfstream.

Tragically, one individual died at the scene, as emergency responders struggled for hours to manage the aftermath. Fire Captain Dave Folio from the Scottsdale Fire Department indicated that three other people were hospitalized, with two in critical condition.

Neil expressed his condolences and gratitude towards the first responders in a statement released through his representative. He stated, “Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved in this tragedy.” The runway at Scottsdale Airport remains closed as an investigation is launched by the National Transportation Safety Board New York Times.

This collision adds to a distressing trend of aviation accidents in recent weeks, which included a deadly midair crash involving a commercial airliner and a helicopter near Washington, D.C. on January 29, resulting in 67 fatalities. Reuters reported earlier similar aviation tragedies, emphasizing growing concerns regarding air safety.
