NEW ALBANY, Ohio — A tragic workplace shooting at a cosmetics warehouse in New Albany has resulted in the deaths of two employees, with four others hospitalized after the incident that unfolded on Tuesday night.

According to AP News, the shooting occurred around 10:30 PM at KDC/ONE, a facility known for manufacturing cosmetics and toiletries. The suspect, identified as Bruce Reginald Foster III, 28, was arrested on Wednesday morning in Columbus after fleeing the scene. Foster previously worked at the warehouse, and authorities have not established a motive for the shooting, which police characterized as a “targeted type of attack.”

New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones stated during a news briefing that there appeared to be contact between Foster and at least one of the victims before the shooting occurred. He also confirmed that all victims were employees at the warehouse and that around 150 staff members were evacuated safely to a neighboring building during the incident. The police recovered a Glock Model 26 handgun at the scene.

In the latest updates, the Los Angeles Times reported that authorities have confirmed “no confrontation or dispute prompted the attack.” After an extensive manhunt, Foster was located in an apartment and arrested following an altercation with U.S. Marshals who were executing the arrest.

As investigations continue, the community is reeling from the impact of this violence. Mayor Sloan Spalding expressed his condolences, stating, “Our community is heartbroken.” Police are currently working to ascertain more details about the events leading to the shooting and have urged anyone with information to come forward.

The suspect is expected to appear in court soon, facing charges that include aggravated murder according to India Times.

As of now, the conditions of the injured victims remain unknown.
