In a tragic incident on Monday afternoon, at least three individuals were killed, including the shooter, at Martin's Super Market in Elkhart, Indiana. The situation escalated when law enforcement responded to a 911 call about the shooting at approximately 5:30 p.m., resulting in two police officers being injured while neutralizing the threat. The Elkhart Police Department reported that two victims were found dead inside the store, with the suspect fatally shot outside during an exchange of gunfire with the officers.

According to police spokesperson Jessica McBrier, the two wounded officers were taken to nearby hospitals, with one already released and the other in stable condition. "It’s a sad day in Elkhart," McBrier noted during a media briefing, adding that there was no ongoing threat to the community.
