Anthony Scaramucci, infamously one of Donald Trump’s shortest-tenured advisers, has mocked Vivek Ramaswamy for leaving the Department of Government Efficiency before it even started. Scaramucci pointed out that Ramaswamy lasted “minus one day” after removing himself from co-leading the White House department, now solely headed by Elon Musk, just before its official launch.
Saying that Ramaswamy cannot be measured in “Scaramuccis”–an informal measurement that references Scaramucci’s own 11-day stint–he quipped: “Ramaswamy lasted minus one day. He’s not even measurable on the scale.” This lighthearted jab was shared on Politico’s Power Play podcast.
The writing seemed to be on the wall for Ramaswamy after his December social media post criticizing American culture, which sparked backlash among MAGA supporters. He has since focused on becoming Ohio’s next governor but was reportedly pushed out by Musk.
Despite sharing a selfie with Musk recently, Ramaswamy’s rapid departure from the role has drawn comparisons to Scaramucci’s brief tenure as White House communications director, which was marked by controversy and profanity-laden tirades. Scaramucci, who was fired after just 11 days, has since become a vocal critic of Trump and even supported Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
Scaramucci remarked on the inevitable discord within Trump’s circle, suggesting that more big-name firings and conflicts are on the horizon. “A lot of these guys will get blown out. It’s not going to happen smoothly,” he said.
