President-elect Donald Trump is preparing to energize his supporters one more time before his inauguration with a rally scheduled for January 19, 2025, at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The rally, officially named the “Make America Great Again Victory Rally,” will commence at 3 PM ET, with attendees allowed entry starting at 1 PM ET. This arena, which houses the NBA's Washington Wizards and the NHL's Washington Capitals, boasts a capacity of 20,000 people, making it a significant venue for the event.Source: Newsweek
The rally is part of the inauguration festivities, which is exceptionally notable since Trump’s inauguration will take place on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The anticipation for this event has drawn thousands of supporters to the capital. Due to expected frigid temperatures, Trump has formally requested that parts of the inauguration on January 20 take place indoors, hence holding his address in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, reminiscent of Ronald Reagan’s 1985 ceremony.Source: India Times
Attending the rally will be various prominent speakers including Trump himself, Vice President-elect JD Vance, and a lineup of celebrities such as tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, wrestling star Hulk Hogan, and actor Jon Voight. Additionally, UFC President Dana White and reggaeton artist Anuel AA are expected to partake in the proceedings alongside conservative figures like Megyn Kelly and Charlie Kirk.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, live musical performances will feature the iconic band The Village People, who will deliver their classic “YMCA”, alongside performances from Billy Ray Cyrus and Kid Rock. The rally will also honor a rallygoer who was killed during a recent assassination attempt on Trump, with a tribute performance by a choir from Liberty University.
Supporters unable to attend the event in person will be able to watch it live online, with numerous channels streaming the event on YouTube for real-time coverage.
