Indichip Semiconductors Ltd, in collaboration with Yitoa Micro Technology from Japan, has signed a significant agreement with the Andhra Pradesh government.
The partnership will lead to the establishment of India’s first private semiconductor manufacturing facility with an investment of Rs 14,000 crore.
The new facility will focus on producing Silicon Carbide (SiC) chips, important for India's tech advancement and sustainability.
The Andhra Pradesh government will provide land and infrastructure at the Orvakal mega industrial hub in Kurnool to support the project.
The expected production capacity starts at 10,000 wafers per month, ramping up to 50,000 wafers in two to three years, aligning with India’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat vision.
