NEW YORK — Timothée Chalamet is set to make his return to “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) for the third time, this time taking on both hosting and musical guest duties. NBC announced on Friday that comedian Dave Chappelle will host on January 18, with GloRilla as the musical guest, while Chalamet will host and perform on January 25.

This upcoming appearance is noteworthy as it coincides with the height of the awards season. Chappelle, marking his fourth time hosting, and GloRilla, named one of The Associated Press’ Breakthrough Entertainers of 2024, are both nominated for Grammy Awards at the upcoming February 2 event. Chalamet is also in the running for various acting accolades for his role in “A Complete Unknown”, as he gears up for the Oscar nominations announcement scheduled for January 19.

In “A Complete Unknown,” Chalamet showcased his musical talent, learning guitar and harmonica to channel Bob Dylan. While details of his SNL performance remain under wraps, fans are hopeful for a reprise of his song "Statistics," as he previously expressed his affinity for **Dylan’s more intimate tracks**, citing favorites like “Girl From the North Country” and “Tomorrow Is a Long Time.”

Chalamet remarked, “I like the more intimate songs like ‘Girl From the North Country’ or ‘Boots of Spanish Leather,’” expressing how **Dylan’s voice resonates** with the emotional gravitas of the North Country region.

Notably, Bob Dylan himself made a singular appearance on “SNL” back in 1979 as the musical guest. Additionally, current cast member James Austin Johnson portrayed Dylan in a skit earlier this season, contributing to the celebrated legacy of the show.

SNL is currently celebrating its **50th season**, with plans for a special anniversary weekend event, including a live broadcast titled “SNL50: The Anniversary Special” on February 16.
