Macy’s has revealed plans to close 66 stores across the United States this year, aiming to improve overall profitability.
This move is part of a larger strategy to close a total of 150 underperforming locations by the end of 2026.
The decision aims to return the company to sustainable sales growth and reallocate resources to better-performing stores.
The majority of closures are expected to take place in the first quarter of 2025.
CEO Tony Spring emphasized that these changes are vital for focusing on investments in successful locations.
