Singapore has detained three men suspected of preparing to travel to the Middle East to fight against Israel, with one expressing readiness to launch attacks locally.
The detentions occurred in October, according to the Home Affairs Ministry, which noted the individuals are not linked to one another.
All three were radicalized online and have been held under Singapore’s Internal Security Act, allowing extended detention without trial.
One detainee indicated a willingness to follow instructions from Iran’s Supreme Leader, including potential attacks on Singapore, without specific plans in place.
Previously, two other individuals had restrictions placed on them due to similar tensions surrounding the conflict in Gaza.
