AkzoNobel, the Dutch paint and coatings manufacturer, is set to lay off up to 211 staff in France, approximately 16% of its local workforce.
The reorganisation will take place from May 2025 to the end of 2026, while also creating 29 new jobs.
They will invest 22 million euros to upgrade the Montataire site, aiming to establish it as a flagship for decorative paint production.
Previously announced global job cuts include 2,000 positions by the end of 2025, with closures occurring in Ireland, the Netherlands, and Zambia.
This restructuring comes in response to challenges like post-COVID slowdowns and rising costs, targeting a savings of 120 to 150 million euros annually.
