MADISON, Wis. — Morgan Geyser, the Wisconsin woman who at just 12 years old brutally stabbed her classmate to please the fictional horror figure Slender Man, is set to be released from a psychiatric hospital after nearly seven years of treatment. Throughout her time in the mental health facility, Geyser filed four petitions for release since June 2022, with her most recent attempt resulting in Judge Bohren's approval following a day-long hearing. The judge acknowledged the severity of her past actions, describing the crime as a "brutal, terrible offense," but emphasized the importance of rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
