L.A. Mayor Karen Bass confronted a reporter regarding criticism on the "lack of preparation" for ongoing wildfires.
Reporter Jonathan Vigiliotti noted the absence of fire engines during initial fire outbreak in Pacific Palisades.
Bass emphasized her focus was on "saving lives and homes" despite reporter's push for accountability.
The mayor faced backlash for being overseas during the wildfires, having traveled to Ghana for presidential inauguration.
The wildfires, now deemed the worst in Los Angeles history, resulted in five deaths and nearly 180,000 displacements.
