AI-generated images falsely depict the Hollywood Sign on fire, circulating widely on social media platforms such as X.
Jeff Zarrinnam, chair of the Hollywood Sign Trust, confirmed that the sign is undamaged and clarified that the viral posts are based on misleading visuals.
A livestream available on the Trust's website demonstrates that there is no fire currently affecting the Hollywood Sign.
The sign remains safe as it is not in an area subject to evacuation orders, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
In contrast, many other local landmarks have suffered due to the ongoing wildfires, emphasizing the need for accurate information.
