Johnny Gaudreau’s jersey number 8 will be retired by the Dubuque Fighting Saints this weekend in a ceremony recognizing him and his deceased brother, Matthew.
The event will be attended by family members, including the brothers' parents and Johnny's widow.
This marks the first jersey retirement in the franchise's history, honoring Gaudreau’s significant contributions as a leading scorer during his time with the team.
In a tragic incident, the Gaudreau brothers passed away after being hit by an SUV while biking in New Jersey earlier this year.
The Fighting Saints will also announce the Gaudreau Award to recognize players embodying the brothers’ spirit and skill in hockey.
