Mela police have developed a comprehensive traffic management plan to facilitate the movement of pilgrims during the Kumbh Mela that starts on Jan 13.
A No Vehicle Zone will be enforced for three to four days, with 102 parking lots, including 20 satellite parking areas, set up within a 5 km radius of the main site.
The plan features dedicated entry and exit routes for various transport modes, while prioritizing pedestrian movement towards the Sangam.
Approximately 7,000 buses and 100 electric buses will be organized by UPSRTC, with additional colored e-rickshaws for easy transport.
The traffic layout includes 28 pontoon bridges to manage cross-area movement and promote interstate coordination among authorities.
